Employee Engagement


Our second head office Fashion Footprint employee survey shows our people are more engaged with the programme than ever before. We received an overwhelming 96% approval rating for Fashion Footprint.


More than 60% of our employees engaged with the digital format of this report last year. Now our goal is to communicate more frequently about the programme, with email the preferred channel.


We released a series of short films about the key achievements of Fashion Footprint on Instagram this year, marking the completion of our tenth anniversary year.


Our retail teams took part in the Fashion Footprint survey for the first time this year. Their survey included a focus on how they consume energy in stores and included a shout out for nominations for Eco-warriors who will keep Fashion Footprint front-of-mind among their colleagues.


In 2016 we updated our ethical trading training programme to incorporate several key priorities, such as Better Cotton and modern slavery. In total, 187 employees attended our Ethical Trading workshops this year.


We remain a strongly young and female organisation. In retail, we have 84% female employees and at head office it’s 73%. In stores, 77% of the workforce is under 35 and at head office it’s 70%.
